Our Roots
The foundations of Precision Timber began in a haven of creativity: a small and dedicated workshop known as ‘Grandad’s Garage’ in Yorkshire. This wasn't just a shed, but a sanctuary of genuine craftsmanship where the scent of sawdust met decades of inherited skill. Our heritage began here.
Grandad, a master carpenter, had spent his life honing his skills and building an extensive collection of tools. He didn't just teach us to use these tools, but also the importance of precision, patience, and the integrity of natural timber.
It was here that siblings, Amy and Sam, alongside Amy’s husband Tyla, developed a shared and unwavering passion for woodworking and design.
Our Family
With a passion for woodworking and creativity instilled by Grandad, our three founders combined their unique expertise, enabling us to create bespoke playgrounds with technical mastery and a strong understanding of child development.
Sam, a natural problem solver, spent hours under Grandad’s guidance, focusing on structural integrity and sophisticated construction mechanisms. His expertise ensures that every structure is engineered to meet the highest safety and durability standards.
Amy, with her history as a primary school teacher, brings her creativity and eye for detail to promote high play value in everything we design. This ensures that all our structures encourage learning, development, and a natural curiosity of the outdoors, as well as physical activity.
Tyla, with a background rooted in high-end, bespoke joinery, brings an exceptional level of finish and detail to every structure. His passion for turning complex visions into reality ensures that the final products are robust and built to the highest specification.
