Overview
Located in the heart of London, Northwood Girls School had a performance space that was failing to live up to the talent of its students. Their original timber amphitheatre had succumbed to the weather, leaving behind rotten, unsafe seating that hindered outdoor learning. They reached out to us for a complete reimagining: a high-end, durable transformation that would serve as both a safety-conscious classroom and a sophisticated stage for the school’s thriving performing arts department. The result is a vibrant, safe, and stunning hub that encourages every student to take centre stage.
“We are absolutely thrilled with our new amphitheatre! It’s beautiful and provides the perfect setting for our students to take centre stage. The team at Precision Timber has been amazing to work with – from design to installation, their craftsmanship and professionalism have been exceptional. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to enhance their outdoor facilities, or anything to do with timber! Thank you Precision Timber team and we can’t wait for the next project”
Bronwen Booyens, Facilities Manager, Northwood College for Girls
The Northwood project highlights the direct impact of choosing specialized materials for long-term facility management. By replacing rot-prone timber with premium anti-slip composite, we eliminated 100% of the school’s recurring maintenance costs associated with sanding and staining. The transition to a weather-resistant surface has increased the amphitheatre’s availability by 365 days a year, as the anti-slip technology ensures safety even immediately following rain. Schools trust us because we don’t just fix a problem – we provide a high-durability upgrade that protects their budget and their students for decades.
